Response: When I have a lot going on I find time to enjoy my day in the small transitions of time like in the mornings or before bed and such. One thing I do to enjoy my everyday is by treasuring the time I get with my friends, they are a main source of joy, especially during school whenever I see them. Second I take a long shower every day, I find that after Ive been really stressed a good shower at the end of the day always makes me feel better. Lastly, I listen to music whenever I can, I find it really relaxing and makes me feel more in control of my life. Summary: We finished our Ambush paragraph. Reflection: I thought this was a really challenging practice. I was able to grow my skills at argumentative writing and taking a more clear stance on things.
Response: I am culturally queer and my favorite part of being queer is probably how connected our community is. As the LGBTQIA+ community has been a pretty repressed minority for a long time we have had to create our own community and connection. I have met so many lovely queer people that I have been able to meet and relate to. A lot of my very close friends are also queer and we have formed a small community within lakeside that really makes the world feel a lot more safe and kind. Summary: We worked on Dissect the We worksheet. Reflection: I found the work a bit difficult which honestly really helped me. The pager had me really thinking about the poem more thoughtfully than before.
Response: I think the weirdest story I heard about was the case of Marybeth Tinning. I had to do research about her in forensic science last year for our serial killer project. She had around 10 or so kids thought her life and killed 9 of them. It had been written off for years as tragedies and SIDS for years until she was caught suffocating one of her kids. It was a really interesting case because she would give birth to a kid and kill it but then continue raising her other kids and even fostering a kid without killing it. After she was imprisoned and died in jail she was diagnosed postmortem with Munchausen by proxy. Summary: We finished reading A Rose for Emily and watch the video adaptation of it. Reflection: I found this story really interesting to read, going over it thoroughly helped me envision it more. I found watching the movie really interesting because it really contrasted to my personal interpretation of the story.
