In “The Interlopers” by Saki, Ulrich and Georg view each other as interlopers, outsiders intruding on their land and their lives. Think about a time when you felt like an interloper or when someone else felt out of place in your world. How did that situation affect relationships, emotions, or outcomes?

Response: I have felt like an interloper and out of place when I hung out with a friend's friends a bit ago. I was invited to go to a restaurant with a newer sorta friend of mine and her friends but I didn't know anyone else there and they were all fairly younger than me. I was also the only guy there and I just felt very out of place to be honest. This made the whole outing feel awkward and uncomfortable for me because of the distance between me and everyone else. Overall I think the outing was nice but I just didn't really click with most of the people there so I was glad to get home and haven't hung out with them since.

Summary: Today we read The Interlopers.

Reflection: I think this story has an interesting message and I liked analyzing it more in depth in commonlit.
